three unlucky things happened to me this weekend....
yesterday broke a glass of water in my room....seems like a bad sign because i have not broke anything for a very long time, not that i always break stuff....and then today, i was at raffles place mrt, heading to vch for westwinds concert. As i was early, i went to the sam machine to buy stamps but there was this idiotic, sam machine-idiot man who was extremely slow in paying his bills....so i went upstairs instead to caltex house, but the sam machine there does not weigh items. i went back down, and that idiotic man was still there scanning his bills...i asked him if he could let me go first cos i only need to buy two bloody pieces of stamps, and he just mumbled something and continue to scan his bills, like he is deaf and blind that he did not see me or hear what i just said. when he finally finished, i mumbled"so slow!", loud enough for him to hear as he walked past me. the infuriating thing is, when i tried to slot my coins in, the slot was actually jammed with something, so after waiting for so long, i couldn't buy my stamps....arrghh...never mind.....so i went to vch instead.
The concert was not bad...but the audience sucked cos there were so many students around! They were not attentive at all. The group of girls sitting in front of me were talking and playing and smsing the whole time! When the band was playing sinfonia hungarica, the stupid audience clapped in between the movements. don't they know they are supposed to clap at the END of the piece???? i tthink sec sch students really have no concert etiquette at all. And when the tubas used their mutes, everyone giggled and whispered, as if they never ever seen a tuba mute before!! sigh...so damn ignorant...i wonder do they really play in a band ( unless these students are not band members, which i think not). never ever sell tickets to too many sec sch students for a band concert....not good for the band when they perform...
after the cocnert, we went to funan pasta mania for dinner and then headed to cafe cartel at raffles city. that's where my third unlucky incident happened. as i helped to shift the table cos we were using two tables, i broke my nail!the cut went quite deep and it bled....Arrghh....never happened before! jingyun accompanied me to find a nail clipper. cos we dont want to waste money to buy a nail clipper, we went to robinsons and body shop to borrow one. none of them have it, but i felt that the sales assistants are just being unhelpful!i dun believe body shop dun have nail clipper!! sigh...in the end, kevin went to his car to check if there is a pair of scissors. luckily there is. jingyun only managed to cut a bit of the broken nail cos my nails are too dry and it was painful. On the bright side, maybe these unlucky incidents would drive my bad luck away and i will have better luck to come...: )
the guys felt my pain when they saw my broken nail. terrence joked that if i were to go hiking with them, i must cut all my nails short and cut my hair short too. so ridiculous!
