Camaleonte

I loved the concert.
Although many things went wrong, I still feel that its an amazing concert. Everyone played with their hearts.
I met Audrey to take the train to nafa. She seemed alright, with a bit of cough. Until when we were reaching newton, she felt nauseous, faint and broke out in cold sweat. I started to get worried and there were no empty seats so she rested her head on my shoulder. We got off at dolby ghuat and went to the taxi stand at ps so that she could get a cab home but the queue was long. She said she will go to her bf's place instead. I walked to the mrt station with her and by then, she was feeling a bit better. audrey said it was unlikely she could play that night. She sms me later that she was safe with her bf. When i reached nafa, i told karen and jinsong that she couldn't play for the concert, which i thought was a pity. Actually, the percussionists were also less of a player (yinping) so its like we had two casualties...
The soundcheck went alright. The group playing soaring sounded good, and while i was standing backstage listening to them, dexter stood behind me silently trying to scare me when i turned around..:s much to huimin's amusement.....later, i told huimin maybe a miraacle might happen and audrey might come back to play.
While I was eating dinner during the break, jinsong came to tell me that audrey was coming after all as she was feeling better. I was so surprised. A good sign... and then later when my section was tuning at backstage before the concert starts, we saw yinping and audrey, and aloy was stunned that they actually came even though they were supposed to be sick...
Before tuning, i had a heart-to-heart talk with zhizi, that i was sorry about the phone call i had with her that tuesday night after prac. Told her that i was fed up with the prac and the whole thing that happened, so maybe i didnt sound nice on the phone. She was disappointed but i made it known to her that i was telling her those things for her own good. I'm glad we cleared it up. : )
My sec sch classmates came for the concert and i was so happy to see them. yuxuan came too...and yee sen....alan and wei liat. Golden jubilee started off good, but during moorside march, we counted wrongly...so somewhere in the middle before G, my section didnt come in at all...haha.....oops...it was tiring playing the solo part in festival in russia three times....first time, i didnt manage to reach some of the high notes, second time was better, third time, i was struggling, but manage to hit it. i was shivering a bit during that piece, nervous. But the good thing was after the piece, aloy said to me "good solo". : )
The emcees for the concert were....erm...ok but i feel that they were under-rehearsed. One of the emcee hesitated when he announced Mr Glosz's name, like he was trying to remember what it was. They mixed up the order of the repertoire and didnt introduce victor for his solo piece...
We were not allowed to go out during interval so i could only waved at yating and gang from the stage as i walked by and then i called her saying i could only see them after the concert ends. The perc ensemble piece was good, but we couldn't say the same for soaring...many parts went wrong...me, humin and dexter cringed when someone came in early during the early part of the piece....and i saw adrian sitting there, shaking his head while he listened....sigh...the composer must be terribly disappointed with us...later that night, i heard that Mr Glosz was shaking his head too as he walked back and forth at the backstage while the band was performing soaring.
After soaring, the rest of us moved in and I commented aloy for his solo. It sounded great. The whole mood of the band was lightened up as everyone enjoyed the pieces better. My favourite piece of the repertoire, Pirates of the Carribean, was the climax of the whole concert. We sounded really good!! Everyone was into it.: ) Guangchen heaved a great sigh of relieve after he conducted the last note of the piece. should have seen the look on his face....haha....The program actually printed the encore piece, saturday night live, on it, which Mr Glosz made a joke of it as he introduced the piece. The trumpets and tombones grooved their way into the first part of the piece, much to the audience's delight. I felt that it was the second best piece of the night.
After the concert, went to say my thank-yous to yating and gang. They really liked the concert and i was actually worried at first that they wont like it as they are not familiar with band music. Alan told me we sounded clean.
The packing up took quite a long itme. There were so many stuff, as if we were moving house. We had an unplesant incident with the bus driver, who refused to let us load the small instruments onto the bus, saying that the bus is for transporting pple, not goods....everyone was so damn pissed with him. His attitude was really bad and unreasonable. And he checked every nook and cranny in the bus with his torch light to make sure that the bus is not dirty. Curse him!
We moved all our stuff to the new room at concourse below SESS. Mr Glosz was also there to help out. The new studio for our rehearsal looks comfortable and chic. Everone hanged around at concourse till quite late, then we went to to kopitiam for drinks. Me and peihsia stayed a bit longer with dexter and the rest when the others went home as we were going to share cab with them. We continued to talk about the concert and laughed some more.
Everyone was tired after the concert but i'm sure they enjoyed it. Hopefully this experience will bond everyone much closer to this band. : )
